It has been a few weeks since you last heard from me here but I wanted to talk first about Independence Day. On July 4th, 1776, the Second Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence which stated “When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws and Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”
245 years ago, our Founding Fathers created the foundation for the greatest Democracy the world has ever seen and over the last 244+ years, more than 2.5 million men and women have given their lives for my freedom. Countless others came home broken in mind, body, and spirit and still countless more signed up to put their lives on the line so that I might be free. Yes, it is that personal. I have been blessed to have been able to live the American Dream and it is only because they fought for me. That is why I am donating 100% of my congressional salary to charities that benefit veterans living in our district.

Not standing with Israel
Susan Wild once again voted against allowing Israel to protect itself by securing more Iron Dome missiles. This would be shocking if Susan Wild did not already vote against the procedure last month. I have said it before and I will continue to reiterate my support for Israel as our ally and the only democracy in the Middle East.
The Hyde Amendment
If you didn’t know what the Hyde Amendment is, it is a legislative provision barring the use of YOUR taxpayer dollars to fund abortions. Beginning in 1976, the Hyde Amendment was passed on a bi-partisan basis and has been included in each budget since then. However, the radical left in Washington just proposed a budget where the Hyde amendment would be revoked! What does that mean? It means that if successful, Nancy Pelosi, Susan Wild, and the Squad will make your tax-dollars go towards publicly funded abortions. As your next Congresswoman, I pledge to make sure that the Hyde Amendment stays in the budget and your taxpayer dollars do not go towards abortion. Before the Hyde Amendment took effect in 1980, an estimated 300,000 abortions were performed annually using taxpayer funds.
Infrastructure
Susan Wild and the Democrats’ so-called infrastructure bill is nothing more than a partisan plan that fails to address the real infrastructure needs our communities face. In fact, One out of every two dollars in this bill would go towards meeting Green New Deal mandates! It also includes nonsensical provisions like lifting a bipartisan ban against spending federal transit money on art, essentially classifying art as infrastructure. Yes, you heard that right, Susan Wild wants to classify art as infrastructure! Republicans are ready to work on a strong bipartisan plan that addresses the infrastructure needs of this country by investing in funding for roads, bridges and other surface transportation programs and ensuring taxpayer dollars are used wisely and efficiently. The current Democratic bill only allocates <7% of the money towards physical infrastructure!
